How is the procedure done?
The filler is injected with a fine needle or blunt cannula into the areas requiring enhancement, filling, lifting, defining or contouring.
How long for fillers last?
This depends on the area being treated as well as the type of filler used. As a general guideline lip fillers last 6 to 12 months, midface fillers 12 to 18 months and lower face fillers 18 to 24 months. However, it must be noted that ageing continues to take place and top up treatments may be needed in-between to maintain the effect.
How many syringes of filler do I need?
Each syringe is usually one millitre of dermal filler which in essence is one fifth of a teaspoon. This small amount of hyaluronic acid can make subtle facial changes especially in areas like the tear trough and lips. However, in order to achieve optimal results, in most areas more than one syringe of filler is usually required. Depending on the facial area being treated, this can be done in one session or over a few sessions depending on the aesthetic goals as well as the patient’s budget.
