For the next few months, I will be focusing my blog on some of the latest aesthetics beauty trends.
To start off this new series I want to look at the celebration of ageless beauty. Do you think you look older than you feel? Do you think that your face looks tired? While writing this blog I am reminded of the song by Queen “Who wants to live forever”.
Ageless beauty addresses the philosophy of not necessarily living forever, but rather not ageing or at least ageing “gracefully”.
Many men and women (aged 45 and up) feel neglected when it comes to beauty, aesthetics, and fashion.
However, thanks to actresses and singers like Jennifer Aniston, Cate Blanchette, Jennifer Lopez, Julia Roberts, Judi Dench, Tina Turner, Celine Dion and Richard Gere our world view of age has shifted.
No matter your age, nor the opinion you may have of their values, they certainly inspire us with what is possible when it comes to aesthetics, beauty, and fashion at every age.

It is interesting to look at pictures of some women in their 30’s in the early 1900’s compared with some women in their 80’s in the 2000’s. I love that some women have embraced their age and are modelling ageless beauty, funky fashion, healthy nutrition and active lifestyles.
In the modern age, in which we are privileged to live, there are so many aesthetic treatments available to us. It is a massive industry that is constantly expanding and advancing.
It sometimes feels like I am running to stay on the forefront of the latest treatments and products. Subtle changes can make a huge difference to your face.
There is no longer a need just to accept the furrows on your forehead. With treatments like botulinum toxin or forehead threads available, improvement is definitely possible.

As I ask some of my patients – if your front tooth fell out would you just live with it?
Most people I know would try to seek aesthetic dentistry options. In the same way, if you have the option of having a fresh, vibrant and ageless face why would one accept the effects of gravity, age, genetics and the environment on your face and body.
Through healthy nutrition, healthy lifestyle, quality skincare products and medical aesthetic treatments one can slow and reverse the effects of age on the face and body. I love it when patients walk out of my rooms looking and feeling 10 years younger.
My philosophy is – Why not give everything a lift if you can? Why not lift that face? Take the sad, drab and even mad look off your face, perk up those breasts, put on that fashionable outfit and take on life with vigor, colour and vibrancy?

Personally, I have made the decision to use quality skin products and not miss my Botox treatment every 4 months. Yes, I may have a lot of personal goals to reach and a few extra kilograms to lose after lockdown but, if I keep pushing forward and try to be the best version of myself that is what matters.
I believe our motivation for doing these must be about ourselves and not doing it to impress others. I never want to embrace the “couch potato” lifestyle (except maybe on the odd occasion) but rather embrace the fullness of life.
Nowadays, with the wide range of non-invasive Medical Aesthetic treatments available, beauty and glamour need not cost you an arm and a leg nor a kidney! No more long hospitalisation stints or long “down time”.
Treatments such as Botulinum Toxin, Dermal Fillers, Threads, Chemical Peels and Microneedling can literally take years off your face and body.
To wrap up this blog, I want to mention some of the treatments available for Generation X:
1. Botulinum Toxin

Botulinum toxin is used in minute concentrations to soften wrinkles.
It involves a relatively quick non-invasive treatment.
The number of injections is dependent on your treatment objectives including which areas of the face are being targeted for care.
The results of treatment may already be noticed within a day or two with the full effect seen within 7 to 14 days
The Botulinum toxin treatment effect usually lasts around 4 months, but the duration of the effect is dependent on factors such as the condition of the skin as well as sun exposure and smoking.
2. Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are non-invasive injectable treatments used for plumping the skin, boosting skin quality, filling fine lines and deep wrinkles, facial contouring and creating more youthful and modern facial features. A filler of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a substance which occurs naturally in the human body, has an anti-ageing effect by stimulating new collagen production and improving hydration.
3. Thread Lifts

A thread lift procedure is used to treat signs of ageing on the lower face and other parts of the body. The thread lift involves placing threads beneath the skin, which are then pulled, lifting the skin.
Threads are mainly used to lift the forehead, mid-face, jowls and neck but also help to combat other ageing effects such as eyebrow and cheek sagging. Threads are also being used more frequently for lifting other parts of the body such as the breasts, abdomen, thighs and arms.
Wishing you a long, ageless, beautiful life filled with happy thoughts, love, special memories and precious friends.
